I love plasma picture, but there have been some horror
stories going on with the latest panny plasma’s. I love
deep blacks, vivid colors and good motion for sports,
will these 120hz LCD’s do the job? and which one is
better judging by specs.
I know LG says 2ms and sharp 4ms but
lots of people say companies use
different standards and can make up
the response times. I saw a 1ms phillips
blur horribly like someone vomited on the
TV. Also The panel and video processor
looks a bit better than LG’s, I just wanna
get a LED close to plasma’s pics.
Both of those sets have a good response time, but the LG is far better, only 2 MS. That is excellent. Coupled with the 120 hz refresh rate, that’s about as good as you’re going to get for fast motion blur reduction on an LCD.
The Sharp is good also, with a 4 MS response time. Ordinarily, that would be a fine choice, but you’ve found a better one.

Followup per your additional details and the other answers. Your question asks which set is better “judging by the specs,” and by the specs it’s clearly the LG. If the companies have fudged their response time estimates, then LG’s is still probably the faster of the two–if Sharp is stretching the truth, their response time is probably something above 4 ms. For LG, it’s probably something above 2 ms. It’s still no contest.
You can eliminate all doubt by seeing both sets demonstrated somewhere if that’s practical. Otherwise, judging by the specs, your choice is easy.
