I got this Samsung 40 LCD TV as being a replacement for a faulty LG 37LD450 i had gotten for my dorm room. This is obviously of better build quality.
The graphic is terrific, whites are clearly white, and the blacks are black (no blue/gray tinting). that audio is nice, regarding TV speakers, but I use the external system (this model DOES have a 3. 5mm external audio output) so i have no complaints.
The something that I wish i’d have known is that it doesn’t actually have some sort of swivel stand, as far as allow me to tell. It doesn’t rotate in any way if I try to turn it (thought it might just be stuck, but I’ve pushed as hard as i’d prefer to without risking damage).
also, just because I think this will annoy some people, if you mute the TV, the limited mute graphic stays and form of dances (slowly) around the left of the screen until you unmute it. It does not disappear after some time. This might annoy many people (gamers especially) but you are able to still just turn the degree down to 0, or “hard” mute it inside options menu, neither which will display that annoying little box.
Those will be the only two things of which bug me though, and overall i’d personally definitely recommend this TV to anyone searching for a solid 40″. THE 40″ COST LESS THAN THE 37″ NOW, SO DON’T BUY YOU! Also, I think you get in-home service with TVs that are 40″ and larger, not with 37″.
Also, i would like to note that PS3 SLIM games look fantastic for this TV, even though it still is at the 60hz camp. personally, I don’t think 120hz may be worth the extra $100, especially after seeing what this Samsung can do,
