Review of the Vizio Plasma TV

Vizio plasma TV Overview
The 42” Vizio plasma TV has a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. A remote, integrated NTSC/ATSC tuner with removable side mounted speakers is currently included. Black is the only color for this model. The affordable price tag and other qualities appear good but after seeing the picture quality you understand the low ticket price. This HDTV is at the top of the list of budget plasma TV’s.
Right away you will notice the inferior picture quality. Colors appear muted when compared to higher cost models, but again are not completely unpalatable. Some slight tweaks inside the color settings can help to bring a little more life to the Vizio plasma TV, but are unable to recreate the stunning images of the higher priced new models.
Instead of the colors coming together slightly we noticed a problem commonly referred to as false shading. The picture quality was easily detected even by those unfamiliar with plasmas. While the picture quality was at best adequate, the additional features on the Vizio plasma TV did nothing to impress. When looking for the HD input area it was obvious this was completely overlooked by the manufacturers.
DVI inputs, which are only suited to carry a 480p signal are all that is included to join your components. With today’s high end televisions boasting 1080p this television is far less than capable of keeping up. The picture within picture feature of this model is very poor. While this TV does allow you to observe two television channels concurrently it does not have the capability to allow you to view a DVD, VCR or video game simultaneously.
The picture within picture ability needs to be radically improved to make it useable. With its low cost it does stand out. This model is not as highly rated as some but it also costs quite a bit less. The Vizio is an acceptable TV with its low price tag, but you could purchase a higher quality TV for more money.
