Panasonic recently launched 8 new plasma and lcd TVs under its Viera brand which it claimed outfitted with?
V-Real 1,080p processor that can process full HD signal in its original condition without down conversion.Great! I thought.I have been looking forward to this. And I am glad I decided to wait when I wanted to upgrade to a HD TV I I didn’t go for just a HD with 1.366×768 but full HD 1,920×1,080. However, before rushing out to buy my dream TV I decided to check professional reviews on Cnet Asia. I couldn’ believe my eyes when I saw the resolutions of the plasmas only 1, 024×768 and 1.366×768 for the LCDs. I guess I will have to wait longer for my true HD TV. Why can;t Panasonic just give us real 1,080p? And why very few TVs with true 1080p being sold in Malaysia compared to the US? And why the manufacturers claim their TVs full HD-ready when they are not? As far as I am concerned true HD resolutions are 1,920×1080. I would appreciate if somebody can enlighten me. For your information, I am from Malaysia where only LCD tvs like BenQ from Taiwan have 1,920×1080 resolution.Contrast poor.
What the PEAK V-Real processor do is simply allowing Viera High Vision 1,024 X 768p {42″} and 1,366 X 768p {50″ and 58″} Plasma HDTVs to receive and display down converted images from Blu-Ray players which will output 1,080p resolution without degradation in picture quality., It does not mean they will be able to display actual full HD 1,080p resolutions.
Panasonic recently released a line of 4-Full HD with 1,920 X 1,080p plasmas panels under the Viera PZ600-Series. These full HD include a 50″, 58″, 65″ and the 103″. All 4-models will be able to display and receive Full HD 1,080p resolution.
