Onkyo TX-NR609 7.2 Channel Network, Great AV Receiver For Any Great Price
I bought this as a pre-order item when I saw several of the pre-release video reviews of it. I’m glad Used to do. It does everything I want a single package and the network integration is extremely good. If I have one complaint, it’s that the receiver doesn’t always let you get out of Setup mode directly back into jogging mode. You often have to turn typically the Onkyo TX-NR609 7.2 Channel Network off then back on while you’ve changed certain things (like finding your way through the Audyssey setup). It would also have been nice kid reroute the unused (in my instance at least) rear high channels to sling front channel sound to an unpowered subwoofer. But, unless I’m missing something, you should not.

And as others have pointed out and about, HDMI pass-through is not setup automatically. You have to turn it with (I’ve set mine to Auto).
The USB input is made for me since I don’t have a powerful iPod but do have several UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS drives and USB players.
Finally, the networking feature works well and eliminates one extra route for those sound. Yeah, you can run network stuff from a Blu-Ray player but that adds another remote control to the stack.
Consequently all-in-all, I’m very happy with that this box. Time will tell how well it supports.
HDMI out from Comcast Motorola DCX-3400 DVR (their latest generation) were not able to hold a 16: 9 aspect ratio or even 1080i HD output in settings. (Kept reverting for you to 4: 3 and 480i in the Sony HD TV.
Same thing occurred when i replaced the Onkyo NR690 with an older Denon model, AVR-591.
Thanks to Denon tech support along with different Comcast support person, the matter was identified.
Comcast replaced its latest DVR generation when using the (two generation old) DCX-3416 Motorola DVR and the issue was resolved with the Denon. I assume the Onkyo unit would have also caused the older DVR.
Too bad Onkyo tech support was unaware of the issue (as was the first Comcast contact) to make sure that I had no alternative but to go back it. Onkyo loses one star for tech support lack of issue awareness. (Benefit of the doubt gives the unit four stars. E. g. I like the setting menu better than the one that came with the Denon.
