Why does my mitsubishi hd 1080 series 56 ” projection tv goes into that 3-D mode where the letters are blurry?
it used to do it less now it does it almost 10-20 after its turned on and it doesn’t go away until i turn it off and then i turn it back on. How much would it cost to get it fixed
Your rear-projection TV has three projectors inside; one each for red, blue and green. These projectors need to be kept in strict convergence. (This is a separate issue from focus. Focus adjusts the focal length between each lens and the screen. Convergence adjusts the distance between the images projected by the three projectors). Locate the convergence adjustment in your TV’s menus and you can fix it yourself in a few minutes. But wait until your TV is fully warmed up to do so.
If you succeed in converging your TV, and the problem keeps recurring after some period of time, it means you have a hardware problem. Convergence data are stored in flash memory and controlled by convergence ICs. These can, and do, go bad. Fortunately, they are easily replaced. Unfortunately, you will need to re-converge from scratch after they are. It’s usually better to let a pro realign your TV’s geometry at that point.
