If I was to buy a ps3 would the graphics look good on my tv?

and i was wondering if i was to get a ps3 would the graphics look good with just the standard AV cables or if i was to get a hdmi cable would it look better or the same..and is my tv even hd for i can buy a hdmi cable?
yes, there is a noticeable difference between component cables and hdmi. the graphics are amazing on a plasma/hd tv. it’ll look pretty good on a 720 tv, as that’s what most games are. however, there are newer games are now 1080p compatible.
