Can Blue-Ray movies be played through any television set?
I have a standard TV, a PlayStation 3, and composite cables (red, yellow, and white). I am well-aware that I need an HDTV and at least an HDMI cable (I don’t know if component will do the trick) if I want to enjoy the full high-definition experience but I’m not quite ready to get a new TV. I want to build a small Blu-Ray library right now while I’m still deciding which new TV to get, but I don’t want a bunch of DVDs I can’t watch at all in the mean time. The reason I am asking this question is because Blockbuster.com said I do not have all the requirements to play a Blu-Ray DVD even though I checked the player box.
My television has RF and composite AV outputs only. It has no component or HDMI outputs.
As long as your television has component inputs on it, you can set it up no problem. It would be best to use HDMI, but in your situation you must use components.
But, it won’t look the best as it does on a 1080P television.
