I'm buying a high definition television for use with my computer. What type of connection is the best?
The TV is either 1080i or 1080p, but I'm looking for options in connection to the model, I determined to buy. The connection options include S-Video and RGB cable. I currently use and old CRT TV and the detail is horrible even at 640×480. I might need to buy a new graphics card if I component video cable or HDMI cable (sorry, I do not know what use their names) need. S-Video is sufficient to provide a reasonable picture where I can read text and objects (to play Warcraft and word processing) to say 800×600 or 1024×768. I plan to buy a 34 inch CRT HDTV set instead of the larger plasma or LCD units by the way
Your computer is in progressive format issued, does not support 1080i on the TV that you are a true 1920×1080 digitally fed into the feed. You will be limited to 720p if the TV only supports up to 1080i, which is likely to be high enough for your graphics card (based on the assumption from your description). If you have a better graphics card to the large 1920×1080 pixel resolution is 1080p supports, be sure it has a DVI output. Your TV does not necessarily have a DVI input, but it would save money to avoid that an adapter to use. With 1080p TV out and support the one true native 1080p input resolution, the image will be awesome and a true 1:1 pixel representation of what you Send the monitor.
