Is it illegal to download HD movies (torrents) if you own SD versions of the specific flicks?
I have a huge library of standard definition movies and I’ve recently upgraded to a high definition television. I find the idea of having to buy these movies all over again, to view them in HD, absolutely stupid.
I wasn’t aware it was illegal to download a back up copy until just a little while ago (thanks to google).
So I guess that answers my question.

I don’t think that the movie companies care how many movies you have, if you don’t want to watch them in SD, then you shouldn’t have bought them in the first place. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be silly to buy all of your movies again, but you have to look at it from their standpoint. They make and sell movies for a living, just as you do whatever it is you do. There are many ways to download movies, and I’m not saying it’s right or that people don’t do it, but really what are the chances of you getting caught???
