Comcast Hdtv, Anybody know is it better to buy the hdtv cable box or pay the extra $7 a month?
And how does it work? Do I have to let comcast know that I have Hd cable box in order for it to show the channels? Any way to get around it or find better way to save money? Thank you for your answers.
Comcast does not sell cable box’s, if you buy one it may be an illegal box or one that is incompatible w/ Comcast system…thoroughly research and talk to your local Comcast before you waste money.
Other options, there are HD tvs w/ built in HD or Quam tuners that will only allow you to only get the local broadcast HD channels and no other HD channels. Most of these are the more expensive models.
Another, get a tv w/ that supports a cable card…this eliminates the bulky box, Comcast supplies the card, the first cable card is free no monthly charge, the downside is you will not get VOD & PPV, but you will get all HD channels you subscribe to and all other channels.
Last, rent the cable box from Comcast..if they give you a box then there is nothing you need to do as it will be added to your acct and activated. Pickup at svc ctr or tech install.
There may be bundles you are eligible for that could lower yor bill and add services…again talk to Comcast.
