What TV Should You Go For?
The speed of technical development in the consumer electronics market means that having the latest innovation is a constantly moving target. This means that if you are in the market for a new games console, TV, Blue Ray player or iPod it is difficult to know which model to go for. One product in particular that is going through major changes currently is the televison.
Television technology is in flux at the moment, a couple of years ago debates about what HD resolution to go for were rife, the LCD TVs vs Plasma is also a debate which is heard throughout wholesale electronic stores throughout the UK. Almost every TV on the market is HD Ready, which solves that conumdrum. There is still disagreement about what is ‘best’, LCD or Plasma but champions of both formats seemed to have settled on the agreement that they both have different strengths and weaknesses.
The decision over whether or not to invest in a 3D TV is a favourite at the moment, the technology is still not fully matured and will take some refinement before an industry standard is settled on. Also because the technology is in its infancy, price points are currently high though they will no doubt drop in time.
Internet TV has also thrown a cat amongst the proverbial pigeons, with the introduction of Google TV in partnership with Sony, the giants in their respective fields of web and consumer electronics may be standing on the precipice of something great. If internet TV does take off it may ring in the obsolescence of cable and satellite machines altogether, just like the iPad could make laptops and electronic readers old hat and washing machines made traditional washing methods like soaking clothes in a sink full of detergent irrelevant
