Can AVerMedia Volar USB ATSC HD AverTVHD TV tuners for the PC as a PVR for DirectTV be used?
I want to use my PC as a PVR, I know it can to get HD signals, but I'm wondering if I could use it to get video from my Direct TV box, then use it with something like GB-PVR. Because the answer is no. Is there a USB tuner, works with GB-PVR.
No, the device only accepts ATSC signals, and your DirecTV box does not output an ATSC signal. If you receive ATSC and connect your DirecTV box (albeit in SD), you must have a tuner card supports the NTSC as well, and probably has A / V inputs.
