Why won’t my recorder/DVD player record TV in high definition?
Hi all,
I have a sony DVD player that can record TV shows as well. However, I can’t tape on channels that say HD; for example One Hd (I live in Australia and that’s an Australian channel 
). It just says “HD Service is not Available” against a black screen. I can tape on all other stations. Is it on the wrong setting, or do I need a new recorder?

It’s a HDCP issue. HDMI will not let you record HD. Component on the other hand….. Hook it up component (Y Pr Pb) and you should be able to!
