Would a blu-ray dvd player make that much difference to the picture and sound quality of my dvd’s?
Hi,
I have a 42″ full HD 1080p tv, at the moment i have a normal dvd player and normal dvd’s.
My question is whether buying a Blu-ray dvd will make much if any difference to the watching expereince ? (picture and sound quality)
It seems I have a hd tv, but i’m not using the hd.
Obv, I will eventually buy blu-ray discs as well but i have a massive collection of normal dvd’s, will a blu-ray dvd player enhance these or only the blu-ray discs ?

If you have an up-scaling DVD player that is of good quality a Blu ray player is not going to make that much difference with DVD, better blu ray players seem to also have better up-scaling technology involved and as DVD players are phased out the availability of quality DVD players lessens but as of today you probably could still find DVD players that can compete with the up-scaling quality of a good blu ray player but it’s becoming a difficult task.
