Western Digital has published a new media player called the WDTV Live Hub. This new media player is dependant on previous equipment designed around the 500MHz Sigma 8654 SoC that gives this to be able to play High Definition MKVs, ISO, AVI documents and much more. The WDTV HD Live includes a 1TB, 2.5-inch Internal Hard Drive to go along with an all-new graphics user interface. Priced at $199 it is one of the most expensive media players we’ve analyzed recently, but zero of the set-top players feature a built-in hard disk.
The WDTV HD was designed to not only play multimedia system that you have within your gallery but it is made to play multimedia which is on the net also. The Live Hub is able to play content via Netflix, Pandora, Blockbuster, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, MediaFly, and Live365.com. It is able to even obtain for you local weather for your selected town.
Now we have tested the compatibility of the WDTV Live Hub with a lot of multimedia files locally (from a UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS key or even external hard disk) as well as remotely (via DLNA UPnP), the documents then being stored on the pc of the network.
