New HD satalite box will only work one tv?
We are so disappointed, we had direct tv, with a dvr,and had it hooked up to operate the 4 tvs in our home; After getting a new hd dvr box, we learned it will only operate 1 tv, the others all would need their own box. Sad thing is, we don’t even have an hd tv, so it does not matter about the hd in the first place. Direct tv says no way around it, but my husband found a box at radio shack called rf modulator, that he thinks will allow the others tv’s to hook up and get a picture? Please advise?
You can make it work with the rf modulator, just not in High definition. It will take your Auxiliary jacks to a box, then to the cable that goes to the other rooms. High Definition has pretty much wiped out the use of coaxial cable and you need the alternative. You only need the rf modulator that has the yellow, white and red hookups for an input, then coaxial for the output.
You are not required by Directv to keep HD programming. If you are paying for it without an HDTV you should cance.
