1080 vs 720 + dish vs cable vs fiber optic, etc?
Questions:
1. Can you really see a difference between 1080 and 720 in a plasma or LCD?
2. Would you recommend HD dish network, cable, or fiber optic HD
3. I will connect a DVR, surround sound receiver, digital set top box (whether it be cable, dish network, or fiber optic), and DVD to the tv. How do you connect all of these (if tv has HDMI) – for example, coax cable from wall to DVR, HDMI (or component cables?) from DVR to cable box > from here to ?, etc?
4. Did you get an additional power outlet installed for the tv (if hanging from wall) behind the tv itself and how much this cost?
sorry for all the questions and thanks!
#1 – You actually CAN see a difference between 720p and 1080i…CBS uses 1080i and ABC uses 720p…Flip back and forth between those two channels while they’re airing HD content…It’s a subtle, but noticeable difference.
#2 – Deciding which HD provider you go with should be based on PRICE and CONTENT…How many HD channels are you getting? And for how much money per month? Do you get a free HD DVR upgrade?
#3 – Click this link for some hook up options: http://www.avtruths.com/tvhookup.html
Also, HDMI isn’t always the best option…Click this link to see why: http://www.avtruths.com/hdmi.html
#4 – Just browse your yellow pages for ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS and ask them (by phone) how much it would cost to install an electrical outlet…Most companies charge $80 to $120 per hour in labor…But their employees are certified electricians and will meet all building codes in your area.
