Do you think the HD/digital TV format is overrated?
I’ve had HD with cable for a couple years now, and I admit that the color looks sharper in the new format, but I’m wondering if its worth forcing everybody to change out their old TV sets. I have analog televisions that are only a few years old in most rooms in my house and they still show beautiful pictures. It makes me ill to know that I’m either going to have to throw them out or pay more to hook each of them up to a digital cable box in order to keep using them. Why? just so Sony and Panasonic can sell more HD flat screen TVs. I feel that the digital cutover should have been optional. What’s your opinion?
No, I do not think it is over rated at all.
If the change over were optional, the government would not be able to resale the analog spectrum to other public service uses, as they will do.
