Home Theater Receiver?
I need to buy a receiver for my entertainment room. The room came with speakers in the ceiling (5 of them) and I am going to mount a 55 inch LED sony to the wall and connect Direct TV HD and PS3. I want to spend about 250 dollars max on a receiver. So far thinking between Pioneer VSX-820-K or the Onkyo 508. Any suggestiong?
Both the systems you mentioned are OK, but as another poster mentioned, you need to find out if they’re compatible with your ceiling speakers. Even if they are, ceiling mount isn’t the best for sound quality, but hey, its your system. In addition, you’ll need to find a subwoofer to make the system sound right, as its unlikely the ceiling speakers are full range.
