LCD Picture Quality Issue?
This evening we just purchased our first LCD television. A Samsung LN46A650 46″.
The picture quality when we play both DVD and Cable is WAY below what we expected. The quality is significantly below that of a tube TV. There seems to be a lot of pixelation… especially around letters on menus but even on faces, backgrounds, and more.
My question is, are we doing something wrong? Or is this reduced quality to be expected unless watching strictly HD channels? Sometimes it even seems like a menu screen appears clearly, and then shifts to being pixelated… maybe there’s an adjustment we need to make? Any help would be much appreciated.
It’s the source you are watching and not the LCD. Because your new LCD TV picks up more detail, it shows pixelations because the channel or DVD you are watching is not high quality. That is why you need HD channels or blu-ray to match you equipment.
Think of it this way, I’m going to try to make an analogy. If you got a very expensive speaker system but you play an old cassestte tape from the 80′s, it will still not sound so good right.
Hope that helps
