If we get an HD tv?
We are looking at upgrading our living room TV to an HD and getting the HD package from Direct. We are already Direct subcribers and have a DVR on the living room set now. If we upgrade and get the DVR for the HD TV, will we still be able to use our current DVR on our bedroom TV that is not HD? Man, this is a lot of acronyms in one question…
Yes, you will, but beware of the non-HD channels, or as they are called, SD channels. If your HD TV does not have an SD tuner, your SD channels, which are many more, will look horrible, worse that your regular TV. In an HD TV, you can see the pixelation in the images, because there is more space between the pixels. I bought a Sony HDTV and was disappointed with the quality of the SD channels.
