If you have an HD tv that says it can reveice Freeview HD do you still need to have a Freeview HD box?
I am about to buy an HD TV that says it can receive it but I’m wondering if you need to buy a Freeview HD box.
No. If the television says that it will receive Freeview HD then its built in tuner will pick up the Freeview HD channels. You only have to provide a good aerial.
Note that most television sets at the moment cannot receive Freeview HD without an external box, so make sure that your set is clearly marked that it can. Also, Freeview HD will not be completely rolled out across the country until late 2012 so you must check that it’s available in your area.
