I have new Motorola HD box that is broadcasting my HD channels in 480, the old box broadcasted in 1080i. HELP?
It is a comcast provided box, I own a Sharp Aquis, the first time I hooked up the box to my TV it recognized the 1080 and the picture was great. Now with a new box, the quality is only coming in 480. I can tell because Sharp provides a box in the right corner listing the quality the cable.
Depends on your box and tv, your tv can reset to 480i. Lets assume for a minute that your tv didn’t reset itself. If you have a moto HD box which I assume you do. You can push 2 buttons in succesion. The power button than either the menu button or select button, try both I cant recall which one it is. Anyway once you do this you’ll get another menu that will show the default settings on the box its not the menu with all the numbered choices on the left i’m thinking 1-14 instead you will see a menu with the first line will say TV Type – you want to make sure this says 16:9 the second line will ask YpBR output – you want to make sure this is set to 1080i. The third line will say override- you want this set on 4:3. Hope this helps you.
