HDMI to DVI????Will it work on my HD TV?
I have a HD TV, and i got Charter Communications….they gave me a HD box which allows me to see HD Channels (Ex. HD-Discovery channel..so on).But the cables they used suck they dont get the full HD on my HD-TV…But in the back of the box it has a connection for a DVI..and my HD TV has 3 slots for a HDMI..i know they got some DVI to HDMI cables out there, im about to buy 1..But i want to make sure if it would work before i get it.
HDMI is DVI with audio and some bells and whistles added. You won’t see a difference and you will have to run separate audio wires.
I’m not sure what you mean by “full HD”. The resolution (720p, 1080i) is set by the video, the TV just reports what it is getting. The cable can’t change the resolution. If you are not getting the resolution you think you should be getting, either the box’s settings are incorrect or the video just isn’t being sent in that resolution.
BTW, Mesa is correct about Monster cables. They are expensive overkill for most home users.
