The Internet Is Coming To TV
In the space of a half decade the television has undergone a geninune shift change, with razor thin components able to be utilised, and it can therefore be mounted almost anywhere. But TV is once again on the cusp of a massive shift in terms of how we interact with, and use television in the future, with the advancement of internet connectivity. The way that we get content for the television is about to undergo a revolution, and this is going to alter how we watch TV.

Apple TV is looking to solve this issue where you have effectively an Apple set top box connected to the internet, and users can access content from the Apple iTunes platform, along with other content providers that they have signed distribution deals with.
Another option is internet focused options such as Google TV. Again Google provides a set top box, but gives your TV the ability to search, so you can search any TV channels that you can currently access, or search and retrieve content directly from websites such as YouTube. Google is also looking to take this to the next level by partnering directly with television manufacturers, in order to have the technology built directly into the TV and therefore not requiring a set to box at all.
