When do you think autostereoscopic 3D TVs will be out?
I’ve recently seen that Sony is working on, as well as every other TV company, a 3DTV without glasses. I just purchased a 3DTV after Christmas and I don’t want to feel like technology is going to move too fast. Is this something that we can expect to see next year, or 3-5 years from now? I have a warranty on my TV for 3 years so if it breaks they will upgrade me to a newer version so I’m thinking when it breaks on it’s own I can just upgrade. I love my TV but 3D without glasses sounds a whole lot better plus I hear they only have it to where you have to be directly in front of it…for now
3D TV without glasses already exists, but it’s still under development. The problem with it is that the viewer has to be situated dead center in front of the screen and cannot move his head. Not very practical for most consumers.
Any attempt to produce a realistic 3D image from a 2D display will always present daunting technical challenges.
