TC P50VT25 — Superior black-level performance and excellent shadow detail; accurate primary colors in THX mode; great color saturation; effective antireflective screen; reproduces 1080p/24 cadence properly; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services and improved customization; solid 3D picture quality; includes 3D glasses.
The TC P50VT25 is the flagship HDTV from Panasonic, featuring a 50-inch, plasma display and 3D capability. The TCP50VT25 TV comes with one set of glasses, which you’ll need to wear in order to view any 3D images on the TV. In addition to 3D, the TCP50VT25 is wireless ready. This feature allows users to access online content via Panasonic’s Viera Cast system, and place video calls via Skype (though you’ll have to buy a webcam to broadcast your own image).
All of the other sizes in the VT25 line are 3D capable plasmas as well. Panasonic has not yet announced pricing or release dates for these televisions. The controls for the TC P50VT25 are located on the left side of the television. The controls are hidden behind the TV’s bezel, so you can’t really see them unless you look around the left side. The buttons do have labels, but the text isn’t very big
The Panasonic TC P50VT25 is part of Panasonic’s Viera line of HDTVs, so it comes with all of the Viera Cast capabilities. This includes the Viera Image Viewer, which we mentioned above, as well as Skype. As long as you purchase a compatible webcam, you can turn your Panasonic Viera TC P50VT25 into a video conference machine. Both Skype and the Viera Cast media feature are made possible with the TV’s wireless LAN adapter—which is also used to connect to the Viera Cast media features.
